Sophia relaunched Quinta de la Rosa with the help of her father, Tim and brother, Philip in 1988. In doing so she became the 6th generation directly involved in the port trade. Sophia oversees the day-to-day running of La Rosa and has carefully grown the business over the last three decades.
Jorge joined La Rosa from Real Companhia Velha in 2002. Shortly after arriving he focused on each vineyard, made improvements and investments enabling him to discover the true expression that marks La Rosa's style today. Jorge is as one of Portugal’s most respected winemakers and has been instrumental to La Rosa’s success.
Philip helped relaunch La Rosa in 1988 by assisting then winemaker David Baverstock with the wines and ports. More recently, he has taken on a project management role and has been key in redeveloping La Rosa’s winery and hotel rooms. Philip is also leading the brewing project with the help of nephew, Kit.
Sophia’s eldest son joined the business full-time in 2019 after a brief stint working for a London tech startup. Kit is responsible for sales and marketing of the wines, and together with Philip, is managing La Rosa’s brewing project.
